Hornets end negotiations with fraudster

Watford have called-off discussions with a consortium with whom they were in negotiations having found out the man heading up the group was a convicted fraud.

The Guardian claims that Paul Anthony Garland was the man responsible for heading up the consortium, compiled of bankers, specialists and ex-football executives.

Garland, using the the name Paul Anthony, was jailed in 2006 after admitting 11 accounts of obtaining money and property by deception.

The Watford Observer believes that Watford Leisure PLC are still in negotiations with more than one group regarding the sale of the club.
