Mackay: 'Not respectful to comment on other jobs'

We've seen this all before with Brendan Rodgers, and we certainly don't want to lose another manager to a slightly better off club amongst a web of lies.

That Malky Mackay has yet to come out and distance himself from the vacant manager's job at struggling Burnley nor re-affirm his love for Watford Football Club is worrying.

Speaking to the The Watford Observer Mackay was not giving anything away:

"I don't think it is respectful for me to comment on other jobs. I am the manager of this club right now."

The former Scotland international has also confirmed the club is yet to receive an approach for him.

Whether or not an approach is in the offing or not, we could bounce back from any departure as we have done in the past, picking up rough diamonds in Mackay himself, Brendan Rodgers and Aidy Boothroyd over recent years.

Afterall, if the club is to survive for future generations player trading, or for that matter, manager trading is integral. If a good compensation package is agreed, who knows?

The trouble is malky is damned if he says anything, damned if he says nothing...best way is to remain silent, his quote can not be twisted in any way..think burnley is too small for him.

All true. Would be disappointed as he left as they are hardly big time and he's achieved little but we will have to wait and see...

A slightly better off club? .... do you know much about football? if we want Mackay he will come running ... slightly better off club... not sure what the web of lies refers to our club is wrapped in integrity you will be hard pushed to find another like Burnley FC

It ain't the 20's now. Burnley isn't any bigger then Watford. Watford have been tto the prem twice in resent years. Burnley are only a big club in Burnley.

You've got more money than us Hollins, and you've been in the Premier League more recently, but realistically we're similar sized clubs. We both grossly overachieved when we went up. Hopefully for your sakes you will be more sensible with the fruits of the Premier League.

Well you are a better off club, but let's face it, your stuck in a time warp in that area, what a complete grim place.. And Im being polite!
