'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Leicester Preview - Home, December 4th

Weather dependent, Watford get a visit from Leicester City on Saturday as Sven and co. are in town for an N.Power Championship clash.

The Foxes started the season under the stewardship of former Swansea City and QPR manager Paulo Sousa, however the Portuguese left shortly into his tenure at the Walkers to be replaced by Swede Eriksson.

The former Lazio, England, Manchester City and Ivory Coast manager has previous experience in England as then League Two side Notts County's 'Director of Football' - i.e. 'Get paid lots of money for doing very little'. Having gone to the World Cup with the Cote D'Ivoire and failed to return home with the trophy, as was his remit, Eriksson's short-term contract was up and came back to England for a third stint.

It's been a busy first few weeks in English league football for the experienced Swede who has quickly set about strengthening the Foxes squad by delving into his little black book.

Loan arrivals came in the shape of Villa's Curtis Davies, England 'keeper Chris Kirkland, Spurs fullback Kyle Naughton as well as Czech cap Roman Bednar and Irish youngster, Greg Cunningham, given a first-team squad number by Roberto Mancini at Man City this term. Another man to link up with Eriksson was former England colleague, Darius Vassell, fresh from a nightmare stint in Turkey.

Eriksson's record in the Midlands so far reads - played 10; won 5, drawn 2, lost 3.

Watford Team News: The only change Malky Mackay could be contemplating making is re-introducing striker Marvin Sordell up top in place of Troy Deeney. If that doesn't happen the Hornet's should line up as the did at Barnsley unless the illness in the camp has worsened.

Head2Head Form: Leicester City 4-1 Watford, Watford 1-0 Leicester City 07/08, Watford 3-3 Leicester City, Leicester City 4-1 Watford.

Leicester City Team News: On-loan Wigan Athletic 'keeper Chris Kirkland will not feature due to a back injury which has kept him out since signing for the Foxes.

Line up Vs. Nottingham Forest: Weale; Naughton, Cunningham, Davies, Hobbs; Abe, Wellens, King, Gallagher; Bednar and Vassell.
