'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Barnsley Preview - Away, November 27th

It's been six long games and just over a month since Watford last tasted victory against Ipswich Town in October, at the Vic'.

Watford are in town on Saturday to take on Yorkshire hosts, Barnsley - on paper a team who appear to be beatable, perched just two points and as many places above the Hornets heading to Oakwell on Saturday.

Mark Robins was active on loan deadline day yesterday, bringing Wolves left-back Matt Hill in on an emergency loan until the New Year for a second stint at Oakwell.

Watford Team News: Watford are virtually at full-strength again with John Eustace back from a one-match suspension. The skipper should walk back into the side with Jordon Mutch moving back into his familiar box-to-box midfield role.

This leaves Malky Mackay with a selection headache up top. Either young striker Marvin Sordell or last Saturday's scorer Troy Deeney who slotted in down the right will likely partner Danny Graham.

Don Cowie should return to the right-hand side of midfield.

Likely Line-up: Loach; Doyley, Mariappa, M.Taylor, A.Taylor; Eustace (c); Cowie, Mutch, McGinn; Deeney and Graham.

Away Form: Derby 4-1 Watford, Crystal Palace 3-2 Watford and Burnley 3-2 Watford.

b>Head2Head Form: Barnsley 2-1 Watford, Watford 1-1 Barnsley 08/09; Watford 1-0 Barnsley & Barnsley 1-0 Watford 09/10

Barnsley Team News: Matt Hill is not yet fit to feature so utility man Bobby Hassell should continue at left-back in the mean time. Fellow left backs Jay McEveley and Luke Potter are both out.

Another utility man in Nathan Doyle is suspended so either Diego Arismendi or Academy product Jacob Butterfield will come in.

Line-up Vs. Portsmouth: Steele; Trippier, Foster, Shackell, Hassell; Hammill, Doyle, Lovre, Colace, O'Brienl; O'Connor.

Home Form: Barnsley 1-1 Hull City, Barnsley 0-2 Leicester City and Barnsley 1-0 Portsmouth.

Key Player - Adam Hammill: The tricky winger is currently in the form of his life, catching the attention of several Premier League clubs ahead of January. Three goals in his last five starts make the Liverpool Academy graduate a tricky proposition for Lloyd Doyley on Saturday.
