Youngster Thompson Turns Pro'

Versatile Academy right-back-cum-centre-back Adam Thompson yesterday [Monday] signed his first professional contract with the club.

The 18 year-old made his bow for the Golden Boys back in August in a 2-1 reverse against Notts County in the Carling Cup 2nd Round.

The signing of the Northern Ireland U21 cap is proof that the clubs Harefield Academy is bearing fruit as Thompson was amongst the first intake of promising youngsters some seven years ago.

'We're delighted that another Academy product has signed with us, we feel there is potential in Adam and that he has earned this contract.

'He has already played at various levels for his country and has trained with the first-team. There's potential there and if he keeps on working hard it could be good for both Adam and Watford.'
The gaffer told The Official Site

Thompson's contract runs until the end of June 2013.
