Sordell Nets Award

Marvellous Marvin Sordell is the official N.Power Championship Young Player of the Month it was announced today.

A blistering start to the campaign saw the 19 year-old forward grab four goals in five games during September.

Sordell grabbed his first Hornet's goal last season in the 2-1 reverse at Elland Road in te Carling Cup before scoring his first career league goal on loan at Tranmere. After impressing at Tranmere Sordell returned for the end of the season and grabbed his first Hornet's strike in the demolition job at Coventry City.

It could all have been very different for the Harrow-born hotshot had he not been picked up by the Hornet's scouting network at exit trials as a 17 year-old. Having been released by Fulham the nippy forward impressed enough to earn a scholarship at Vicarage Road before signing pro' terms last Summer.

The rest, as they say, is history; here's to more goals Marvin!
