Cowie Earns Scotland Re-call

Cowie Earns Scotland Re-call

After an impressive start to the campaign, Watford's in-form winger Don Cowie has been called up to Craig Levein's latest Scotland squad.

With Lee McCulloch unable to play due to suspension the former Ross County and Inverness man received his third call-up.

The Scot's take on the Czech Republic on Friday before Spain come to Hampden Park on the 12th of October for the latest Euro 2012 Qualifier.

Cowie made his Scottish debut last season in a friendly against Japan before winning his second cap under George Burley in a dismal 3-0 defeat by Wales that spelled the end for the current Crystal Palace boss.

Boss Malky Mackay was full of praise for the wideman who signed for the Hornet's back in January 2008.

"He is a joy to watch in training and is an excellent professional footballer, so I think he merits being back in that Scotland squad."

"Sometimes I don`t think he gets the plaudits he deserves, because if you talk about team players then he is the ideal team player for our football club.'
Said the Hornet's five-cap Scottish gaffer.

Congratulations Don!
