All quiet on the Watford front

Thought it was all just a bit too quiet to be true on the Watford front? That Malky and his merry men MUST have a host of players lined up to land at WD18 ahead of the new season - especially after that shambolic performance at Barnet in midweek?

Well, don`t be fooled - it really is THAT quiet!!! Malky Mackay has confirmed, away from 4 inexperienced trialists who appear to have no future, there is very little in the pipeline and he isn`t expecting an influx of new names to imminently pass through the door marked IN at Vicarage Road.

Oh dear, Oh dear!

The Hornets gaffer admitted to the W`Observer "There is nothing at the moment that is ready to happen..."

Oh dear, Oh dear!

Fortunately our Braveheart boss did insist he`s "awaiting decisions from clubs on their players" and added "we have a lot of things going on..." but then quickly killed off any thoughts of a false dawn by insisting "...there [is] certainly of players you would like to get but you are in competition with other clubs for these players" .

The harsh reality is with a bag of chocolate buttons and half a Twix duo on offer to any youngster wanting some experience away from warming a Premier League bench, we will of course struggle to compete...

... so let`s hope Sir Alex and Monsieur Wenger can see the benefits of last season already in pre-season and spread the word!
