Double deal delight for Horents

Watford have made their first moves into this summer`s transfer fest by snapping up Carlisle centre back, Tom Aldred AND Walsall keeper, Rene Gilmartin.

The Hornets trail to 6ft2 defender Aldred as been well documented but the signing of the 6ft5 Sadlers stopper in unexpected but good news none the less.

Watford have agreed compensation with Walsall for 23 year old Gilmartin and the former Republic of Ireland U21 international has put pen to paper on a 2 year deal.

Likewise, Aldred has signed on the dreaded dotted to commit to a 2 year stay in WD18 but whilst Watford have offered a package to Carlisle for their out of contract youngster, no deal has yet been struck…

…Here at VitalWatford, we get the sneaky feeling the Cumbrians will be taking the Vicarage Road negotiators at a tribunal any time soon.

Get those delaying tactics ready Malky!!!

Dirk Thrust
No plenty to say its just that you do not like the reality in that your squad is being gradually depleted and your manager is having to buy small. Result = relegation, simples.

W S Wally The squad was dramatically depleted a year ago. It is now in the process of being strengthened. I hope the cutbacks will ease soon and allow your medication to be restored.
Dirk Thrust
