Loach: Green 'deserves' to be No1

Watford and England U21 stopper, Scott Loach, has thrown his support behind England stopper Robert Green despite the media backlash after his bewildering blunder against those pesky Yanks.

In fact, as the goalkeeping union throw their loyalty at the W`Ham stopper (eeek, will he catch it?), Loach insists that Green "deserves to continue to play"> and calls on Fabio Capello to stick by him between the sticks.

Loach - who reckons there's a 'great standard of goalkeeping on show' in South Africa - told the 'fficial Watford website "I personally believe he [Green] is a great goalkeeper and should stay in the number one shirt - he`s the one who`s been the best out of the three for England this year…"

And, of that star spangled fumble against the Americans, the Hornets rookie stopper refused to blame the ball and admitted "We`ve all been there - it`s something that happens when you are a goalie".

Let`s face it, Loach would know - especially after his well lambasted blunders in the U21 European Championship final against Germany last year (Green`s was "on a bigger scale" says Scott)…

Then again, Loach was magnificent last season for us and as a result Watford are backing Robert Green to bounce back and start against the Algerians tonight.

Scott, you would rate him as he is as error-prone as you are.
