Rodgers + Pompey = a perfect match?

Rodgers + Pompey = a perfect match?

It could almost be the perfect match - a manager who gets up Watford noses taking over a club who certainly won`t be on the Hornets Christmas card list any time soon…

That`s right, Brendan Rodgers - Mr Integrity himself - is today linked with taking the ever so hot seat at crisis club Portsmouth, according to the administrators responsible for getting Watford a fair share of the £2.2m they are owned by the South Coast outfit!

Rodgers, who despite walking out on Watford then getting the boot at Reading, appears to still be hot property with Ipswich, Pompey and even Man City all looking at him with a view to employment.

Pompey administrator Andrew Andronikou told the Portsmouth News "Brendan Rodgers is a name that has been recommended to us by a third party. He is definitely in and around our thoughts"…

…hmm '3rd party' huh? No doubt it`s an endorsement from departing boss, Avram Grant but Rodgers is a good friend of Jose Mourinho didn`t you know?

Rodgers admits he`s "flattered to be linked with the Portsmouth job" and insists "it is a wonderful opportunity to create history at a fantastic football club".

So, ol Brendan might just get the chance to work with the love of his life - Tommy Smith - sooner than we all thought then?

you really have it in for pompey dont you doc - which part of 'secured creditor' do you not understand? WHATEVER was agreed for smith and williamson WILL be paid, so why you keep thinking you will 'only' get a share of what you are owed is beyond me...
unlike local businesses that have been screwed over the football rich are safe.

Pompey fair points . I quite like Pompey and do not wish THE DELUDED ONE on them. He is so thick and downright pig-ignorant..."create history" How? Pompey have a history far above anything they are likely to achieve in the next few years. He is a moron and totally useless as a manager.

Despite mugging us for two of our best players, the last thing Pompey deserve is Mr Integrity, I couldn't wish that on anybody!

You take our players but haven't paid us and then complain when we have something to say about it, it's not really called having it in for Pompey. I like Pompey but if you don't want to have another relegation, don't sign up Mr. Integrity.

an offer of 20 pence in the pound to clear administration, would still be a lot of money to find, i hope they survive.. but do i really care? Not really.

As long as we get our money I couldn't care less, obviously I feel for the fans in all of this, but the club are paying the price for their lack of financial prudence for the last 2/3 years.
