Hornets add Addicks to pre-season

Hornets add Addicks to pre-season

It appears the heady days of seeing La Liga and Series A opponents pop up in Watford`s pre-season plans are well and truly behind us...

After all, in place of the likes of Parma, Inter Milan and Real Zaragoza who have added some much needed glitz and glamour to friendlies at the Vic in recent seasons, this year Watford will face Charlton Athletic!

No, it didn`t get our juices flowing with the thought of a feast of football in the July sunshine either.

But Charlton Athletic it is and the Addicks will bring their League One skills to WD18 for Watford`s one and only friendly on home turf on Saturday 31 July.

So, thats a pre-season of Northampton Town, Aldershot, Barnet and Charlton pencilled into the diary this summer then.
Ah, it almost makes you proud to be British!

It's a bit lacklustre considering who we've had in recent years but I think it'll be a good challenge.

Much stronger line-up than last years pre-season certainly.

friendlies don't really get the juices flowing, unless we got to play the part timers at junction 10.
