VitalWatford have been left wondering if new club sponsor Burrda know exactly what they are getting into after the Swiss sportswear manufacturer insisted they simply can`t wait to be involved in "exciting times ahead for Watford".
It`s a surprising statement given Watford`s financial plight and with the Hornets reliant on loanees and inexperienced kids - after tinkering on the brink of administration - the future looks like it might be a tough ol` tangle to keep hold of Championship status…
Not that that`s gonna worry Burrda and their General Manager, Charles Diab, who has clearly been well sold the club`s 'Top 30` plans with an eye on an imminent return to the top flight.
Speaking through the ever popular SportsPro Media Magazine, the man at the top of the Burrda tree stated "The opportunity to become the main club sponsor and kit manufacturer enables us to help them move forward with their plans to be a top 30 club aspiring for a return to the Premier League.'
Diab added "There's exciting times ahead for Watford and we can`t wait to be involved. Next season is our first in the UK football market and it was vital for us to launch with the right kind of partner and Watford FC is just that."
SportsPro Media - the magazine of choice on the coffee tables of VitalWatford Towers - reckon the deal is worth a cool $1.75m US Dollars annually to the Vic Road moneymen - which, at today`s exchange rate, works out to be about £4.50 a year!!!
No wonder then that Sir Graham Taylor barked on about adding "genuine value to the club and for our fans far beyond just it`s monetary worth"!!!
