'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Boothroyd back in the Championship

September 3 2009

"Am I going to jump ship as soon as I can? No, why not? Because I think there`s a job to do here and there`s an obligation to see it through.

I was very loyal at Watford and I had lots of offers to leave. But I didn`t do that because loyalty works two ways".

May 20 2010

Aidy Boothroyd has been appointed manager of Championship side Coventry City after leaving League One Colchester United just 8 months and 44 games in charge.

Here at VitalWatford Towers, we can`t seem to find it our heart of hearts to criticise Sir Aidy for doing 'a Rodgers`.

What we do know is that we will welcome him back into Championship life even if his predictable long ball style, underhand 'game management tactics` and cheeky little soundbites will, no doubt, be put into practise from an oppo`s dugout!

Hmmm, wonder if a certain Mr M King of HM Pleasure is expecting a phone call any time soon?

Welcome Back Sir Aidy.

The difference was Rogers was making a sideways move and denied it two days before. Aidy never denied going to Cov and they are a division up from Col U. Looking forward to singing his name at the vic next season

No comparison to Rodgers situation.

I see on Watford Observer site some lamebrain says" BR saved us from relegation"...no, we were nowhere NEAR bottom 3 until he took over from Malky ,brought in no-hopers like Bridcutt, etc. Not until he reversed virtually everything back to Malky`s ways did we start winning.

I'm pretty sure that when Boothroyd left we were in 22nd position? Bridcutt was pi$$ poor though.

You can't even compare Sir Aidy to that scum Rodgers, and Boothroyd left by mutal consent when we was 22nd and if it is anything the players saved us from relegation and us, the fans who travelled in large numbers to every away game.
We Are Watford
Dirk, spot on, Rodgers way was the wrong way, it needed Malky to suggest the team changed tactics.
