Pre-season friendly dates confirmed

In the build-up to the Golden Boys 2006/7 Premiership campaign Watford will face two local sides, Northwood of the Southern League Premier Division and Borehamwood of the Isthmian League Premier Division.

Watford will make the short trip to Chestnut Avenue to play Northwood on Tuesday 25 July, kick-off 19.30. The Hornets faced Northwood in a pre-season friendly last July and won out 7-1 winners courtesy of a Marlon King hat trick.

Watford and Northwood have had an affinity in recent years; Watford used to play their reserve games at Chestnut Avenue and signed Jay DeMerit and Scot Fitzgerald from the Middlesex outfit.

Watford will travel to Meadow Park to face Borehamwood on Saturday 29 July, kick-off 15.00. The Hornets currently play their reserve team fixtures at Meadow Park.

I don't like playing non league clubs in pre season. Too risky for bad tackles and players getting injured.
