Golden Graham hits half a century

Golden Graham hits half a century

Watford striker Danny 'Golden` Graham chalked up the 50th league goal of his career in spectacular fashion with a net-busting 25 yard piledriver against West Brom on Easter Monday.

And what a relief it will be for the former Middlesborough and Carlisle striker who, despite starting with 6 goals in the first 9 games of this season to ease him onto 46, has had to wait 33 games and just under 5 months to register the remaining 4 to get there…

…a 13 game goal draught between November and late February clearly didn`t help!

Graham reached the golden milestone after hitting the goal trail almost 6 years to the week when he netted his maiden league strike at Southend`s Roots Hall whilst on loan at Darlington in April 2004.

Still, 50 goals in 144 league starts is a decent strike rate at 1 goal every 2.8 games and will put other strikers to shame - and let`s not forget his incredible workrate, ability to hold up the ball (& draw others into play) and clever footballing brain.

Here`s to another 50 in double quick time please, Danny!?!?!

Honest, hard working with glimpses of quality-excellent value signing.

Has done well for us, but we certainly got stung by the tribunal!

I'm not sure I agree that we got stung WFC123... I thought (and reported) at the time that it was a hell of a lot of money but Danny has proved worth every penny - his alround play makes a mockery of players who have cost far larger sums in recent years.
