Malky: 'They're Disappointed'

A rightfully gutted Malky Mackay told the assembled press today that he and his players were disappointed not to claim a deserved three point haul against Roberto Di Matteo`s promotion-chasing West Bromwich Albion side.

The Hornet`s gaffer was proud of his side who led the 2nd placed Baggies until the 97th minute, as he told SkySports News

They're very disappointed walking off the pitch but I've been in there and spoken to them and said if anybody's got any disappointment we'll sit down and I'll show you the whole game again and show the performance you've just put in against a side that have been (almost) promoted." Confirmed the Scot.

'I think if anyone was at the game today as a neutral and didn't know the teams and you said one was being promoted and one was down near the bottom of the division, I think it would be hard to choose.' Mackay suggested.

Opposing manager, Roberto Di Matteo, was equally complimentary of Mackay`s young side, suggesting that the Orn`s did not reap the full rewards their performance merited:

'It was an interesting game today and credit to Watford, they really took the game to us,' the Italian said.

'I think the pitch probably helped them more than us because it was quite impossible for us to get our game going'

But it's exactly how you expect games to be when you are playing teams that are fighting against relegation.

However, Di Matteo`s suggestion that the pitch favoured the home side rankles a bit considering we also like to play the ball on the deck, lazy stereotyping Mr Matteo!

Gutted, however this will make Saturdays game all the more tense. Hopefully a big crowd will get behind the lads whatever team goes out their. Really don't see the point of taking Noble on loan though.

Yeah I'm beginning to wonder if he is going to make an appearance or not too?! Massive game on Saturday, you can't overstate it, we need the crowd absolutely on form and behind the boys 100% for 90+ minutes, even if we do fall behind.

Noble's here "for experience only" - Malky has already stated that! He looks about 12 in truth. My personal opinion he;s been drafted in so we get in for the full season next season to avoid having to buy another striker

Doc, I agree. Malky tried for Tommy but this lad is purely for backup and possibly the future. Recent performances deserved more points and we MUST beat Plymouth-if we do then I see S WEds or Scunny dropping with Plymouth
