Watford Have Defensive Doubts

Malky Mackay has serious defensive worries ahead of todays trip up to Lancashire to take on Preston North End.

The Hornet's boss could be without three members of his first-choice back four, and although they've all been out of sorts lately, the backup is inexperienced to say the least.

Aidy Mariappa is ill whilst Martin Taylor and Jay DeMerit both have 'knocks', all three are considered 'touch-and-go'.

The likely replacements would be Lee Hodson, who's recieved an extremely raw deal with the signing of Martin Taylor pushing him onto the bench after he had arguably played better than Mariappa this season anyway.

Academy Graduates Eddie Oshodi and Dale Bennett could come in at centre back though Lloyd Doyley is not adverse to centre half which would open up the left-back slot for utility man, Jon Harley.

Who would you like to see fill the Hornet's backline slots if DeMerit, Mariappa and Taylor don't make it? They've all been poor of late - are the kids worth a shot or do we cross our fingers and toes the senior pro's make it? Let VitalWatford know below!

At palace and Cardiff a number of players did well. Hodson got easilt brushed aside for early game-changing goals @ WBA & palace. talented but needs to improve his defending massively
