'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Malky: 'We deserved more'

After a thoroughly deserved point from this afternoon's home clash with Play-Off chasing Middlesbrough, Malky Mackay felt his struggling side were worth more than a point.

'It's a point more than we had. I think the performance possibly merited a win today.

'You look and see who's gained points and who's not gained points, but at the moment we keep looking at ourselves and we keep looking at the games that we've got ahead of us and I look at the performance today and the amount of work-rate and application they put into that and they're still driving forwards with five minutes to go to try and get the winner.'
Mackay told SkySports News

Gordon Strachan on the other hand had little to say regarding the game, and was much more focused on his side's dwindling chances of reaching the Play-Offs:

'There's always a chance. We've not done enough at the moment to say we should be in the top six.

'Whether we'll be able to do something in the last six games to say we should be in the top six, then that's it, but at this moment we've not done enough, in terms of winning games, to be in the top six.'

Watford remain 21st, but have added another point between themselves and flailing Crystal Palace.
