Owls Preview - Away, March 24th

It's a rare opportunity to highlight the fact it's Wednesday on Wednesday tonight as Watford travel to Sheffield to take on the Owls in a six-pointer.

If there was ever a good time for the Hornet's to end their dire, dire away run, then it's at Hillsborough tonight. Alan Irvine's men sit just a place below Watford, two points behind the Golden Boys and a win for the Yorkshire outfit would leave Malky Mackay's men with just three points between themselves and Crystal Palace.

Wednesday are without skipper Darren Purse due to a hamstring problem so Richard Hinds looks set to replace him at centre half. Striker Luke Varney is however able to return after facing parent club Derby County last time out.

Winger Jermain Johnson is injured so Dutch dangerman Etienne Esajas will start wide in his place.

Watford will be without Arsenal loanee Henri Lansbury and skipper Jay DeMerit, both of whom missed the defeat to Cardiff City on Sunday. Lee Hodson and Ross Jenkins both look set to continue.

Hmmm no Johnson is good news - he's ripped us apart the last 2 seasons we've been up there. As for Hooray Henri and Jay DM - then they are "touch & go" to make the trip - Lansbury is important but I'd play Bennet at the back if JDM isn't fit.
