'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Cue the big Watford debate

Here at VitalWatford Towers, we feel we don't need to post up a full report over the Hornets critical 2-1 win over Ipswich tonight.

All we need to say is:

WILL HOSKINS - THE ANSWER TO OUR GOALSCORING PROBLEMS....

Discuss.

ok, shoot me down if you wish, Hoskins scores a good goal, but one swallow does not mean its summer. He did miss a very good chance, but did he really offer much else? i didn't think so. but it's 3 points and im happy for that.

Andy, I agree! I was calling for him to be replaced as he was clearly exhausted! So MM 1-DT 0! He took the goal well (which we`ve been missing) but despite his hard work he was largely ineffective whilst HH was outstanding. Better side first half but slightly lucky to get 3 points. Loach-Harry 2.5m and he`s yours mate-indecisive. AM-better game Doyley-superb 1st half good second JDM/MT much better defending against good forwards Cowie-brilliant first 20 but faded to ordinary Cleverley-subdued first half, good second Lansbury -hard working Eustace-a return to form Played at a good tempo-a first class contest

Maybe being a bit hard on Hoskins, none of the strikers look good at the mo, they simply haven't been getting good service to them, freshen up the midfield amy be the answer!!! DISCUSS..........

DT - Wonder if you recall your post to me after your P'Boro game where you tried to imply i did not understand the game because i said Eustace & Hoskins would be the first two on my team sheet. If you cannot eat some humble pie after last night and admits bar Doyley, Eustace was MOTM i and many others on the 606 message board really have to question your sanity? Prepared to admit you are wrong?

Chris, you seem unable to grasp simple concepts. Last night WH worked hard but with little impact but scored the winner. IMO,HH was excellent as was LD. Eustace got back to how he was playing a month ago rather than his last few poor outings. "a return to form" as stated above. MOM? no, but one of our best along with HL,etc, just behind HH & LD . Your point about JE/WH being first on your team sheet was challenged by me suggesting that TC & HL were ahead of JE and that WH has rarely performed. Are you seriously saying that JE or WH have been more effective than TC this season? Last night JE did very well as did most players-WH TRIED HARD & SCORED but had he NOT SCORED then I suggest that his display would have been seen as largely ineffective.

Will Hoskins WFC career: 23 league starts + 32 as sub (7 goals; 1/3.something) 09/10 season: 3 + 10 (3; 1/1). Danny Graham WFC career: 31 + 4 (8; 1/4). Considering how many 90 minutes Hoskins has managed vs. Graham, I think at a time where goalscoring is absolutely critical to staying up (Seeing as we can't stop conceding), Hoskins is deserving of the nod of Graham but that does not mean I think he's a better player.

Dirk - Strikers are judged on goals surely? So on the basis he scored, good performance from Hoskins, no?
