Keano: Not a good time to play Watford

Ipswich gaffer Roy 'Keano` Keane reckons it`s probably not the best of times for his improving Tractor Boys to travel to Vicarage Road - despite the fact that Watford have lost all of their lost 4 games AND have plummeted down the table in free-fall.

The out of form (and out of luck) Hornets host Ipswich tonight in a crunch 12-pointer and Keane admitted his side shouldn`t look too hard at the form book with Watford "fighting for their lives".

He told the Evening Star "Watford need results so it`s not necessarily a good time to play them…Watford had a brilliant start to the season but every team has difficult spells and they`re finding that now".

Hmmm, here at VitalWatford Towers, we wouldn`t quite call 2 wins in the last 14 a "difficult spell" - more a disastrous fall from grace - but we get his point (actually, hopefully we can get all 3!)

And Keane`s wariness of Watford continued, adding "Watford being at home, the onus will be on them to open up the opposition so I expect them to play 2 up front. We`ll have to be ready for that".

Indeed, Keane may well be right to be cautious of Watford. In their last 10 games with the Hornets, Ipswich haven`t managed a single win (7 defeats, 3 draws)…

…then again, Peterborough hadn`t registered an away win this season until they turned up in deep, dark Hertfordshire at the weekend.
