GT: 'We Will Continue To Sell Players

Following Watford`s mid-year financial results, legendary interim chairman Graham Taylor has confirmed the Hornet`s will have to "continue to trade players in order to reduce operating losses".

Watford leisure PLC confirmed the Golden Boys had made 172k loss for the second half of the year ending 2009 and this was down on an astonishing lost of £2.279m for the same period in 2008.

The vast reduction in losses is down to the cut down in playing staff and the profits made on the likes of Mike Williamson, Tommy Smith, Tamas Priskin and Theo Robinson as well as departures for Lee Williamson and Jobi McAnuff.

Interim chairman Graham Taylor confirmed that in all likelihood Watford will continue to sell in order reduce losses:

'It is most likely the club will continue to trade players in order to reduce our potential operating losses."

In terms of revenue, the Hornet`s made £5.163m in the second half of 2009 compared to £10.990m in the same period of 2008, this is however largely due to the end of the club`s parachute payments from the Premier League.

Hardly a surprise and news that will have the likes of Spurs circling over Scott Loach...
