Hornet kids stun Liverpool in cup!

Watford latest crop of talented teenagers knocked the footballing might of Liverpool out of the FA Youth Cup at Anfield last night as the Hornets applauded investment in youth started to pay dividends.

Under the watchful eye of Stevie Gerrard and Jamie Carragher, Watford - with Eddie Oshodi, Kurtney Brooks, Gavin Massey and Matthew Whitchelow at the heart of things good - stunned the illustrious 3 times winners in the 5th Round…thanks to a Piero Mingoia penalty in front of the Kop!

The win was even more sweet for Watford, who were 'gutted` to miss out on a trip to Anfield in the competition last season and were without the key figures of Rob Kiernan (Killie on loan) and Marvellous Marvin Sordell (Tranmere on loan).

Up next, it`s Chelsea at the Vic in the Quarter Finals but the route to the final has been blown open wide after Manchester United were dumped out by Blackburn and last year`s winners, Arsenal, failed to make it out of the 4th Round!

With Everton, Newcastle, Fulham also still in the running, it will tough for Watford to repeat their Youth Cup wins from 1982 and 1989 but you just never know!!!
