Hornets hail Tiny Taylor's big impact

Braveheart Watford boss Malky Mackay has heaped praise on his latest recruit, Martin Taylor - all 6ft4 of him - after the towering centre back helped the Hornets record only their 2nd clean sheet in 10 games!

'Tiny` Taylor, who`s free transfer switch from Birmingham has been hailed as a great bit of business by almost every Watford fan - was dubbed "an absolute rock" after keeping the cage fighting duo of Hendo and Richard Cresswell quiet for the full 90 minutes.

Mackay told the 'fficial site "Martin Taylor has shown exactly what he is tonight - a very experienced defender who`s played in the Premiership. He was an absolute rock and he dealt with everything that came his way".

And Malky, like the rest of the crowd, was obviously happy to see the former Blackburn rock steady centre back fit so seamlessly into a backline that had been leaking goals at an alarming rate. He added "Great credit to him and Doyley, Mariappa and Demerit around about him...it was great to get a clean sheet".

Admittedly, the Hornets gaffer did then wax lyrical about just about everyone else during the 'shock` 3-0 win over the high flying Blades, suggesting that Don 'The Cow` was "imposing" and H was "nothing short of outstanding"…

…but here at VitalWatford Towers, it was 'Tiny' Taylor who was 'head and shoulders` man of the match.
