Hornets draw up Plan B for pitch

Watford expect the pitch at Vicarage Road to be playable in time to entertain Sheffield United on Tuesday night… even if they have to resort to 'Plan B` to defrost it.

The Hornets took a battering from the media and fans alike on Saturday when the home clash with Swansea was the only game to called off in the top 2 divisions after a combination of freezing conditions and broken undersoil heating led to a postponement - How embarrassing!

Now Watford officials appear to be a lot more confident that the malfunctioning machinery will be fixed in time to put a bit an extra bit of heat under the usually spicy clash with Sheffield United.

Julian Winter (such a fitting name to talk of a frozen pitch) stated "We are determined that tomorrow`s match v Sheffield United goes ahead and we are doing everything we can to ensure this".

The Hornets have already called in the engineers to take a look at their shoddy undersoil heating (it`s gonna cost ya guv!) and the 'fficial site reckon "a contingency plan" has already been drawn up…

Hmm whether this Plan B will involve the players being employed to blow hairdryers at the pitch or get supporters to bring in a hot water bottle before the game, we`re not sure…

One thing is certain, rumours of Alan Titchmarsh and the Ground Force team arriving at the Vic with pitchfork in hand are completely unfounded (and simply made up!).
