Hornet's Chase Non-league Hotshot

According the source at SkySports News, Watford are chasing rough Rushden Diamond, Lee Tomlin.

The 21 year-old forward is a Leicester Academy product but joined the non-leaguers in 2005.

Tomlin has a pretty poor scoring record at Nene Park if truth be told, just 23 strikes in 143 games for Rushden. However, his international record is better (!), he averages 1-in-2 for England...C of course, the Non-League national side.

This season Tomlin has been used mainly down the left of midfield and has attracted the attentions of SPL giants Celtic as well as League One outfits Charlton and Southampton. In 2006, Tomlin had a trial period at Melwood with Merseyside giants Liverpool.

A second winger in as many days probably isn't top of Malky's priorities, but then surely we could do better than a 0.16 a game striker with only Non-league experience - even with our money troubles?!

Malky has only just finished telling the 'fficial site that there is untapped talent down in the Conference that we need to look at - so it might be a case of 1+1=3

As I say Goatswilly - name me a defender (within ourt budget and our wage structure who will cost nothing) for Malky to pursue... I simply can't think of a target!!!
