Hornets lil' Jon on Robins radar

'Twas just over 2 weeks ago that those speculation hungry sports hacks at Sunday People reckoned lil` Jon Harley was set to leave Watford with Ashton Gate his most likely destination.

And, just when you`d all thought it had gone a little bit quiet up pop the Sky Sports news desk who are today reporting that not only are Bristol City keen on the pint sized left sider but also that "Watford are believed to have received a bid for Harley" and "are ready to business".

Ok, so there`s no particular detail or a fee mentioned but Sky insist Gary Johnson does have Harley on his list of targets as he seeks a new left back…

…and given the Robins` woeful defensive show in last night`s 6-0 home defeat to Cardiff, well you can`t blame him for wanting to bring in a whole new rearguard.

Here at VitalWatford, we`re not quite sure what to make of it if lil` Jon was to leave Vicarage Road. The former Chelsea, MK Dons, Fulham, West Ham, Sheffield United and Burnley (phew!) man has bags of experience (stuffed into 365+ career games) and can play just about anywhere but his legs aren`t what they used to be in those hefty days when he cost Fulham £3.5m…

Still, he`s a good bloke to have in the squad, does his job without too much fuss and is a solid pro… Should command a fee of £150k+ then?

And if we get that kind of figure, I`m pretty sure I would take it.

What happened to my post on this? If posts are going to be erased it makes this a bit pointless.

My original post was that £50k would be good business given that his lack of pace means he cannot play anywhere but wide left and we have just bought one of them. A good pro but not the future and as he is out of contract this season we will not get anywhere near £150k.

Would be good to get a few quid for him. He's a good player and gives his all but he's just not getting in the team on a regular basis, probably due to his versatility.

Andy, I am a WFC fan. The points thingy is a mystery to me.
