Dale happy with Watford 'bucks'

Rochdale have confirmed that they are more than happy with the deal that they have struck with Watford that`s seen wing wizard Will Buckley leave the Spotland spotlight for the rough and tumble of Championship life at Watford.

Buckley, who just 8 months ago was being touted about as a possible £750k target for the likes of Spurs and Blackburn, has signed on the dreaded dotted at Vicarage Road with an undisclosed fee exchanging hands.

Don`t ya just love the word 'undisclosed` - it hides a whole host of sins and creates a world of mystique and intrique.

A quick glance around the Rochdale fans sites and they seem to assume that Buckley should command £500k+ - even though he is out of contract in the summer - and word is the Hornets tempted the management at Rochdale with an offer too tasty to turn down.

Chairman Chris Dunphy told the 'fficial Dale site "Watford made us a very good offer for Will, which after considering a number of factors we agreed to accept…"

Dunphy, who has a teddy boy quiff going on in his rather dashing pen pic on the Dale site www.rochdaleafc.co.uk added "Will`s move to Watford brings with it financial stability until the end of the season".

And there was us all thinking that Watford were skint?!? Unless of course, half a tube of smarties, some blu-tac and a packet of chocolate buttons keeps the wolves from the door in League Two these days…

Oh, to know the real transfer fee!

Yeah, I can't see Malky blowing our remaining pennies all on one player.

Most transfers are paid in installments, should think it would be on a par with what was paid for Graham

I heard it was actually £125k and with lots of options up to a theoretical £300k. their Chairman is saying it `s a £300k deal to appease their fans but it is like our MW sale £1.8m rising to £3m If he plays X games-If they stay up,etc.
