Will wings his way to Watford

Watford have further bolstered their midfield options today with the signing of 20 year-old Rochdale winger, Will Buckley.

The former Oldham midfielder had been linked with the Hornet's constantly of late and has today put-pen-to-paper on a three-and-a-half year contract at with the Golden Boys.

Here at VitalWatford we were touting the six-footer with a possible move to WD18 only this morning, whilst the Watford Observer said the deal would be completed later this week! No doubt Malky has moved quickly to secure his target after he was handed an extra 500k transfer kitty boost by oil magnate [sort of] and Hornet's director, David Fransen.

Buckley gained national recognition when he was listed in #49th in the The Times Top 50 Rising Stars in 2009.

The fee has been set as 'undisclosed but figures were touted ranging anywhere from 500-750k, which knowing our financial state, we somehow doubt! The winger made 41 league starts, scoring an impressive 13 times from the wide areas at the League Two outfit.

A versatile player, Buckley can play on either flank, up top or in Tom Cleverley's spot behind the main striker.

Welcome Will!
