Dale's Buck could stop with Watford

Watford are reportedly lining up a swoop for Rochdale`s highly rated winger, Will Buckley, according to the Sky Sports desk.

Rumours that the Hornets were keen on the 20 year old Spotland flyer (who can play as a striker) have been in and around the message boards for a while now so either Sky are simply displaying lazy journalism or there is smoke where there is fire, so to speak.

Seems a strange link, none the less, given that Buckley was reportedly a £750k target for Tottenham, Bolton and Blackburn less than 8 months ago AND Rochdale were insistent that he was going nowhere unless "the management decided he was".

Despite the £500K loan yesterday, anything close to the figure reported in the redtops will surely be a little too much for the Vicarage Road moneymen to release the purse strings for.

With Coventry also sniffing about the Dale`s prized asset, Malky Mackay will have to be shrewd to secure a deal.

Malky, WE NEED A DEFENDER URGENTLY!!!!!
goatswilly
True, which is why Williamson was being chased. However, youth and pace also needed.
Dirk Thrust
Go on then Goatswilly... give us some names of the defenders we should be chasing (and don't say *Shittu - too expensive or Darren Moore - too ******).
DrWatford
This is a very encouraging signing.... genuine pace and trickery out wide - will suit H and Danny G down to a T.

I think a winger is on our list of needs too to be honest. We haven't got a natural lefty and Cowie hasn't been as goodas as last season going forward. According to the Wobby this will be a done deal this week.

W'Observer also suggests its a 'surprising' deal given that we weren't expecting to sign someone - who reckons that oil magnate is paying some wages?
DrWatford
W Observer is constantly surprised IMO. In the good old days they broke stories, but they are becoming less relevant every week. Cowie is excellent on his day but too often hides in away games and rarely goes wide on his left foot. Service needs to improve but more important competition for places is required as many of current side are not really doing it.
