'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Watford eyeing boy wonder Bostock

It must be another slow weekend for the sports hacks at the People who reckon Watford "look likely" to sign Spurs enigma John Bostock on loan for the rest of the season.

Boy Wonder Bostock, who as a fresh faced 15 year old made his Palace debut against the Hornets, apparently wants to "test himself at Championship level" again and with Malky Mackay`s unrelenting, undying love of midfielders, well, it`s an obvious link isn`t it?!?

Because, when we are leaking goals at an alarming rate with a wilting defence and have no back-up strikers, a ball playing midfielder is exactly what we need in the middle of a 8-game 'without a win` mini crisis.

Admittedly, Bostock - he was wanted by Barcelona you know - has come back onto the radar of late (albeit in the footballing wilderness of League One with Brentford) after leaving the comfort of Simon Jordan`s arms for the bright lights of White Hart Lane too early in his career.

Hmmm forgetting his obvious talents for a minute, maybe Bostock might just be a good, short term influence at the club… to persuade a certain Scott Loach that the grass certainly isn`t that much greener sat on the bench in North London.

this boy is potentially an excellent player, but he does need to be tested at Championship level and this is likely to be his final few weeks at Brentford so who knows.

Where's the money coming from??? I thought we are skint..
watford1881
It came from the People so it's just B******s

Its a good point Watford1881... why waste limited resources on YET ANOTHER midfielder when we are desperate for a CB? Seems to lack logic but then again so do our performances at the moment.
DrWatford
I can not belive that MM has not got a centre back up linned up, hope he has not put all his eggs on Williamson! 17 pints will see us safe, i do not belive we are going to get relegated.
ANDY710
Blimey Andy, after 17 pints the players wont be able to stand up let alone win a football match ;)
goatswilly
lol yes sorry meant points, but hey another 17 pints and i wouldn't care anyway lol
ANDY710
hmmm we could argue that Malky had his beer goggles on when he signed Scott Severin.... that Tennetts Super can be nasty stuff.
DrWatford
Read this on imscouting.com too. Can't see it to be honest, we're most strong in midfield as it is. And surely Bostock is on a gross wage at Spurs for a player of his age.

Do we really need another midfielder? i think we have that area covered for this season.
ANDY710
Cowie, Cleverley, Lansbury, Severin, Jenkins, Eustace, Harley and McGinn - No!
wfc123
I bet we look at a number of players in each position and Bostock unlikely now that the Rochdale player is coming I think.
