Helguson re-joins...again!

Malky Mackay has today swooped for his second signing of the January window to bring Icelandic Hornet's Legend, Heidar Helguson to the club for a third stint in WD18.

Signed exactly 10 years ago to the day by Graham Taylor, Helguson has penned a loan deal at the Vic' until the end of the season. Following a successful loan earlier in the campaign, Helguson returned to Loftus Road briefly under Paul Hart, coming on as a sub versus Sheffield United in the F.A Cup.

Eight starts brought the Icelandic international five goals in his second spell in Hertfordshire earlier in the season, adding to his 55 strikes from 174 appearances in his first spell and he will continue to boost Watford's severely depleted frontline attacking options.

Helguson's deal will see him remain at Vicarage Road for the rest of the campaign, and at thirty-two years old, it's probably for the best for all parties as his lack of football at Q.P.R and Bolton was certainly evident when he first returned in September. The often overly enthusiastic and tiresome legs of yesteryear have evidently departed the 46-cap Icelander since he first left the Golden Boys.

Welcome back Heidar!

a good lift for us fans, lets hope he can stay fit for the rest of the season, it does ease the pressure on young Graham as well.
