Watford want Williamson back

Cash strapped Watford have approached crisis club Portsmouth about signing former Hornet centre back Mike Williamson on a short term loan, well according to Sky Sports anyway.

The towering centre back left Vicarage Road under a rather sizeable cloud, and with the wrath of Braveheart boss Malky Mackay ringing in his ears, after he threw a strop and was lured by the filthy dollar on offer at Pompey just 4 months ago.

The return of Williamson might then be met by a mixed reaction but, let`s face it, Watford have a er, Mike Williamson sized hole in their rearguard these days and if this 'official approach` does turn out to be true then it should be applauded.

It could also be a good move for Williamson - maybe not as "short and sweet" as he`d like perhaps - but a good move none the less. Let`s not forget that the big time charlie hasn`t kicked a big league ball in anger since leaving the comfort of the Championship… So much for "taking the chance to show myself on the big stage" then huh Mike?

Unsurprisingly, former Portsmouth boss Paul Hart, who splashed out an overpriced £3m to take Williamson to the South Coast, is also rumoured to want the player in the ranks at his new club QPR.

So, no doubt, this will come down to whether Mr Williamson will accept the paltry wage he was originally on at Watford or run the gauntlet of not getting paid at Pompey for the foreseeable future.

Forget williamso,how about smudger
Golden Looney
A bit strange that he hasn't kicked a ball for us yet, but with Kaboul and Ben Haim the usual first choicers in his position it doesn't look like he would for a while.
Tantona
Take him back and we'll call it quits.
bluedr
Rather not thanks.

smith hasn't got his paycheck (on time), hasn't kicked a ball... all his reasons for joining us have been flawed...
pompeycarpet
he's not played at all for pompey, don't think he will to be honest. same goes for willo
Golden Looney
Can't see Smudger coming back - maybe he should pop off and join Rodgers at Reading (oh hang on!!!!). Williamson loan is more realistic I'd say though as his existing Watford contract which he was happy with before the Pompey chimes was within the new regime and manageable....

You just as well have him back .. he ain't gonna play for us .. Some of you guys reckon he was a waste of money.. how right you were .. £3m + wages and hasn't kicked a ball yet !
