Loanee Update

Tomorrow's Bank Holiday clash between Watford and Bristol City looks set to be the final game of Henri Lansbury and Heidar Helguson's loan spells at Vicarage Road.

Despite saying he wants to stay in WD18, Helguson has also conceded he'd be likely to return to Loftus Road due to Watford's lack of finances, half of an 18k p/week contract the reason he'll be a Hoop again soon. And, with a change of mamager at the West London side, perhaps the Hornet's legend will fit in in his second spell with the R's.

Henri Lansbury is another who has admitted his desire to extend his Hornet's loan spell, but there has as yet been no news on contact between Malky Mackay and Arsene Wengar. It is believed the Hornet's would have to take on the youngsters full wage to keep him for the season - which surely can't be too much more anyway?

Finally, Craig Cathcart has returned to parent club Manchester United. The Northern Irish centre half has returned to the Theatre of Dreams as he is in need of knee surgery. With Jay DeMerit comfortably back in the side and playing well, backup is needed but not as desperately as when the Ulsterman signed.

With regards to matters away from the Vic', shaggy-haired Irish midfielder, John-Joe O'Toole should return to the Vic' unless Aidy Boothroyd comes up with some money for the protegee. Boothroyd recently made the loan spell of Kayode Odejayi permanent, perhaps something is in the offing for O'Toole? Malky has however denied this, saying the situation will be sorted upon John-Joe's return.

And of course, the best news of all, Nathan Ellington will join Greek outfit Skoda Xanthi on December 31st for a 12month loan deal, Watford will pay a percentage of his wages, but the minority of them thankfully!

Ashcroft only mortgaged the ground (which is bad news as far as I'm concerned) to pay off the salad boyz.. I'm thinkin' we may be going down a slippery slope.. I hate to say it but maybe the club going into the dreaded red might have been a better thing.. Our debts would have been sorted out once and for all.. The ten points could have been regained as long as we gave the younger players a chance to shine... I'm thinkin' Young and Henndo by the way...
