'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Deadline Extension?

According to the Watford Observer's well-placed sources, Watford Leisure PLC have been handed an extended stay of execution.

The board will now have until tomorrow lunchtime to pay the former Chairman and his Vice the nearly £5m leant to the club in their tenure.

Presumably printer has run out of ink or GT and Julian Winter are running around collecting up Monopoly money - 'cos I can't see where else it will be coming from!

Of course, it could actually mean that with the Russo's ousted, Simpson and Ashcroft are going to stump up the cash themselves, which would go some way towards redeemeing themselves in the WD18 area.

The waiting game continues...

I think the most annoying thing about all this, is that watford are not in lots of debt, sure they owe money to the R's because he has resigned and wants his money back plus, the club need to find £5 million by june, but this is operating costs and not a debt. So the club is a attractive propisition to anyone wishing to aquire a football club.. That is why both parties are have placed bids on the table to aquire the club. It really would make no sense for either party to place the club in administration and lose their investment! but then stubborness can make some one do stupid things..

there is no hiding the fact that the two sides hate each other, but the fans, players and club are suffering because of it. it seems ashcroft never had the clubs interest at heart and wants to turn it into a housing estate, so if simpson loves the club get on board with the R bros and oust ashcroft. Then sort your differences in the summer, for the good of the club stop acting like a bunch of hairy arsed baboons!

Well said. The Russo's are not popular with Ashcroft and Simpson as it was they who called the EGM last year effectively causing Simpson to resign. This time round it's basically the other way round in some sort of petty arguement, all the while we suffer watching our club being torn to peices. How do these people pass the 'fit and proper persons test'?!
