Watford boss Adrian Boothroyd has given his reaction to being linked with the vacant managerial job at the Valley.
On Saturday Charlton boss of 15 years Alan Curbishley announced that he was to stand down at the end of the current campaign and it was only a matter of time before Boothroyd would be linked to other clubs after transforming Watford from relegation contenders to promotion candidates in the space of twelve months.
However, the Yorkshireman, who has a contract until 2010 says he has no intentions of leaving Vicarage Road to take up the Charlton job and insists his attentions are focused on winning a place in the Premier League with Watford.
“It is the first I have heard about it, and it is very flattering,” said the gaffer. “It is a credit to the players and staff, as well as the chairman and board who support me. But it’s nothing to get exited about. I’m focused on the play-offs, and this will not turn my head” said Aidy.
