'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Marlon Jailed, again.

Former Hornet Marlon King has today been handed an 18month jail sentence for ABH and Sexual Harrassment of an unamed female.

Whilst on-loan at Hull City last season the former Watford, Gillingham and Barnet forward hit the headlines for the assualt of the unamed female in London club, Revue.

What was meant to be a week-long trial turned out to be just a few days and depite pleading not guilty, King will now spend 18months inside. It's hardly King's first brush with the law after spending time inside for his part in the robbery of a Mercedes back in 2002, whilst he has also been to court seven times previously.

King will be out in April 2011 - perhaps Aidy Boothroyd will take a punt on the former Jamaican cap again?!

Meanwhile, my Marlon King match-worn sock is winging it's way towards Ebay very rapidly!

Marlon, you just don't learn do you! Yet another big time charlie who thinks life away from the Vic is rosy. Bouazza, Helguson, Williamson, King, *Shittu etc

aidy brought the best out of marlon, probably the only coach to do so. Should have never left the vic, a great striker.could have become a great at watford. Now he serving an 18 month prison sentance for a very cowadly act, that's all marlon will be remembered for now, and wrightly so.

Echo both of those sentiments exactly. He was reverred here and if we kept him and kept scoring I imagine he would be up there with our most recent 'legends'. However, typical footballer, driven by greed and well frankly he got what was coming to him. I can't see that that many people will make a move for him after his jail term is up, Aidy Boothroyd and sides like Notts County seem most likely, someone who wants a 'name' as apposed to a clean character.

The sad thing is that the moment MK is released someone will snap him up for free... My kids used to look up to MK.. Now I have to explain why he is banged up... Role model he ain't... Ban him from pro football for life... What a waste... I don't feel sorry for him in the slightest... Now we know why Fulham pulled out on signing him at the last minute... Not a bad call Fulham...

Sometime with brilliance there tends to be a self destruct button, 13 charges in his football career and now he is being written off, wrong or right, alcohol has played its part, I didn't see anyone slating him when he was at wfc and was cautioned for whipping two girls with a belt in a london night club. Did Aidy have him under control? Not really.. would ove to share some of the stories about MK but one thing, when he is sober, he is a really nice guy..
ANDY710
What about the poor girl he assaulted? I hope she hits him with a successful and very large Compensation claim. Nice Guy? I think not. An extremely unpleasant bully and serial offender, more like.
RFB-gloryhornetboys
You miss my point, MK is voted Player of the season by the fans, he uses his belt against two girls and is charged and fined. he scores goals for us and all his problems are put to one side, yet he moves away, punches a girl and now the fans are calling for him to be hung out to dry, there was outcry when he was sold. Im sure she has got well payed by the news of the world and will get compensation, but i didn't see anyone complaining about his antics when he was playing for us and scoring.
ANDY710
My sentiments would be the same no matter where he was playing, nasty piece of work, not welcome at the Vic.
RFB-gloryhornetboys
Thats your opinion and respect for that. What i am saying is, How many of us, myself included and you RFB complained about his behaviour whilst at watford? and dont forget he hit 2 girls then. I don't recall anyone.
ANDY710
To be perfectly honest I didn't appreciate the severity of what King was up to during his time with our club, I knew he was no angel but thought Aidy had turned him around and had some control, clearly that was not the case. I enjoyed watching him play for us in that fantastic promotion season, although the success we enjoyed then is now somewhat tainted because of his unacceptable antics. Everyone deserves a second chance in life (within reason) although King's had that and a few more beside. His injury early in the Premiership season was very unfortunate for player and club and we'll never know what might have been, although when he came back into the Championship he was clearly unsettled and Aidy had lost any semblance of control. Unfortunately, he's blackened the name of our club and I don't want to see him again, however bad pennies have a habit of turning up... Heh ho, enough of him... Let's look forward to tomorrow's game against a well organised and strong Preston side, will be a tough examination for our young makeshift defence, but with a real Watford hero Heidar set to return I am very hopeful. Come On You Golden Boys!!
