'4-0 flattered Cardiff' - Malky

Braveheart boss Malky Mackay has admitted Watford were "beaten by a better team" after Cardiff hit his Hornets for 4 at Vicarage Road but insisted the scoreline didn`t tell the whole story.

In fact, Mackay, who played the 'inexperienced squad` card on his post-match comments on the 'fficial site, reckoned Dave Jones`s Bluebirds "deserved the victory against us..." but "4-0 flattered them".

Hmm, here at VitalWatford Towers, as much as we`d like to, we simply can`t agree with the gaffer - after all Cardiff had enough chances to notch 10 (and might well have done had Hudson and Chopra brought their shooting boots across the Severn Bridge).

Malky added that young, fresh faced squad "need to regroup" and suggested that there would be a bit of rethink during the international break, stating "I think the time is right for us to get back onto the training field".

But in true Braveheart fashion, Malky praised his side`s up and at 'em style.

Sure, there were no outbursts of 'bravery` or 'courage` this time from the firey Scot but he did note "we came out in the second half and gave it a real go...we were worthy of at least 1 or 2".

Yes, cos a 10-2 scoreline would have had a much fairer feel to it!!!

Me feels you may be being a bit harsh Doc, sure we lost badly, but were they such an impressive team? not really, i guess with the team we have got, we are gonna have foul ups, lets just see how we fare in the next few games. if we finish where we are now, then i will be more than happy. lets support our team and stay positive. bloody hell, these happy pills really work, love to you all

Watford deserved the canning we got... Lets put it behind us & start a fresh in the next match..

Most worrying was the performance of Cathcart, who was brought in to strengthen the defence, but is making mistakes and not looking confident at all. Maybe I'm expecting too much from him as he's another youngster but he needs to settle down quickly or we'll continue to ship goals.
