Reading boss Brendan Rodgers has insisted that he`ll take the 90+ minutes of barracking and abuse from a swarm of more than 3,500 travelling Hornets as "a compliment" but admitted he could "undertstand" the stick that came his way during the 1-1 draw with Watford.
Rodgers, who along with Jobi Mc`NotGood`Anuff, was the target for a sustained slating from the packed away stand at a dreadfully empty Mad Stad but Brendan Who? still believes the booing was a sign he`d done a good job at Vicarage Road...
Hmm that`s kinda misguided - Gunnarsson and Rasiak were given a decent round of applause from the travelling fans in recognition of their efforts for the Golden boys.
The right royally disloyal gaffer told the Reading 'fficial site "Maybe if I hadn`t done so well in the 6 or 7 months I was there they wouldn`t have booed me and they wouldn`t be singing it so I always try to take it as a compliment".
VitalWatford`s personal favourite was a loud and proud rendition of "where`s your integrity" which seemed to go on for a good 20 minutes - without response from the home ends. Then again, mind you there were actually very few Reading fans actually there!
Rodgers added "The [Watford] fans might be right but there`s nothing that will taint my time at Watford...I knew this game wasn`t going to be easy and so it proved".
Fair play to Rodgers though. He did add that Watford "is a terrific club" and "a good side" with "some good young players".
As a result VitalWatford would like the whole right royal palava to now be in put in the past and we all move on...
Well, until April 24th at the Vic anyway!!!
