King and Young in PFA team

King and Young were included in the prestigious list after being voted for by their Championship colleagues.

King, arguably the Championship signing of the season at £500,000 from Nottingham Forest, has bagged 21 this term and is likely to finish the season as the Championship’s leading marksman.

Stevenage-born Ashley Young, a product of the Vicarage Road Youth Academy, has weighed in with an impressive 13 goals this season – despite playing the majority of the season on the wing.

Champions Reading have five players in the team whilst Aidy Boothroyd’s side provide the next largest amount of representatives. Runners-up Sheffield United provide one player, along with fifth-placed Leeds but Watford promotion rivals Preston and Palace do not have a single player in the list.

Championship Team of the Year (4-4-2):

Marcus Hahnemann (Reading); Gary Kelly (Leeds), Ibrahima Sonko (Reading), Joleon Lescott (Wolves), Nicky Shorey (Reading); Steve Sidwell (Reading), Ashley Young (Watford), Phil Jagielka (Sheffield United), Jason Koumas (Cardiff); Marlon King (Watford), Kevin Doyle (Reading).

Well done,it doesn't get much better than getting selected by your peers. A good reflection on a promising young manager.
