Golden Graham 'deserves his goals'

The Football League Show might reckon that Watford hotshot Danny 'Golden` Graham chalked up his 50th goal in league football with the winner against Barnsley but Malky Mackay insists the Hornets hitman 'deserves his goals`...

...even though the VitalWatford boys reckon ol` Danny boy is still 1 short of his half century!

Graham has netted for 4 times in 6 starts for Watford this season since his long drawn out summer switch from Carlisle and that initial £250k fee is starting to look like a bit of a bargain already.

Braveheart Watford boss, Malky Mackay has dubbed ol Danny boy "a real acquisition at Championship level" insisting that "he`s beginning to look very dangerous".

After seeing the former Middlesborough, Darlo, Leeds, Derby and Carlisle striker put in another sterling performance at Vicarage Road on Saturday, Braveheart added "The effort he goes into every game with is incredible - he`s always on the lookout for a half chance, always in the box and I think he deserves his goals".

Credit must go to Malky and his coaching staff though, after they took a gamble with Graham after fishing around at the bottom of the League One bargain bucket.

A fact not lost on the Hornets gaffer, who stated "You sometimes wander whether strikers from the lower leagues can make the step up but Danny Graham looks a handful in every game".

Maybe Malky should try his luck with some of the lower league other hitmen hidden away from the glare of the big leagues such as Adam Le Fondre (Rotherham) , Andy Bishop (Bury), Charlie McDonald (Brentford) or Brett Pitman (Bournemouth) to name just a handful who have impressed the VitalWatford boys.
