Loach 'outstanding' for England - Pearce
It really was a case of 'Greece is the word` for England U21 keeper Scott Loach as the rookie Watford keeper was dubbed "outstanding" by Stuart Pearce after earning a point for the Young Lions in the 1-1 draw in Tripoli.
Loach - who has appeared to have gotten over the rare bout of the Scott Carsons, which struck him at the worst possible time in the European Championship Final defeat to Germany - "kept England in the game with second half display" according to the BBC, whilst rivals ITV added that he was "easily England`s best performer".
Not bad in a team containing Manchester United`s Danny Welbeck (sign him up on loan Malky) and the highly rated Arsenal pair of Gibbs and Wilshere.
And England U21 gaffer, Stuart Pearce was in no mood to argue as he purred with praise for the rookie Watford keeper, telling the world`s waiting media that "I thought our goalkeeper Scott Loach was outstanding - for me he was by far the man of the match".
Even The Sun, who were one of the first to lay into Loach after his big style blunders in Sweden during the summer, bleated that Scott put in "an inspired shift" in the Euro Championship Group 9 qualifier with "a string of miracle saves...".
So no Greek tragedy for Loach then and it was a good night too for Watford loanee, 'Clever` Tom Cleverley, who got a full 90 minutes of international duty under his belt whilst former Hornet loanee, Danny Rose missed an absolute sitter - but hey, did we really expect anything less?
