Hornets make steps for H reunion

Watford legend Heider Helguson could be in for an emotional return to Vicarage Road after Sky Sports suggest the Iceman is being lined up for a loan deal with the Hornets.

H, who left the comfort zone of Hertfordshire for the bright lights of F`Lem in June 2006, now has the chance to chalk up a double century of games for the Golden Boys - after leaving on 199 appearances.

Sky reckon Malky Mackay has beaten off the attentions of Middlesborough to snare the former Lillestrom and Bolton target man on loan from those not so super Hoops at Loftus Road

…but whilst 64 goals in 148 starts and a place in the Hornets 'Hall of Fame` is good enough for some fans there are others who think Helguson would be a backward step, with one even suggesting this reunion would show "a complete lack of ambition by the board".

Let`s face it, at 32 Heider comes with bags of Championship experience and a do or die attitude that will suit with Malky`s Braveheart "warrior"style. But - he`s been a tad injury prone of late and he`s also not the quick footed, slippery eel of a striker that Watford fans want to partner Danny 'Golden` Graham up front.

What do you think? Is it right to go back to former glory boys? Would you welcome Heider with open arms even given his celebrations in front of the Rookery when he netted THAT winner for Fulham???

Any signings will be a result at the moment. As the article says its only on loan so if it doesn't work out we havent really lost out have we?

I don't mind telling you he's had a terrible time of it at QPR - really struggling to put away the hatful of chances we create and constantly sidelined with some sort of ailment - I don't think there'll be a fee involved if it's a permanent which I'd expect. Hope he rejuvenates his career at the Vic.

HH leaving QPR is something that would be better for him as well as us. At W12, all he does is gets into amazing positions to score, several times a game, but somehow manages to bottle it. If he gets his confidence up he could well bring back the glory days for Watford.

Don't sound like the H of old! watford one man show one time, used to pop up with crucial goals. Now watford have lost or wide men can not see H improving much. Watford were much more direct without jobi and smudger! remembering H used to crave a good cross in.would take him though we are short in all areas wright now! sure he will do a better job than ellington.

BBC 3CR Mentioned this Yesterday and a certain co commentator talking as if this is very likely to happen when the loan market opens again next week. Looking like a 3 month initial loan deal.
