Ex-Horns in the news

It's been nearly as busy a week for former Hornet's stars as it has been for those currently plying their trade at the club.

Former Hornet, until just this pre-season, bad boy and part time midfield enforcer, Al Bangura has joined Ian Holloway's Barmy Blackpool Army after big Malky released him over the Summer. The Sierra Leone midfielder had been linked with Paul Ince's Francise F.C but joined the Championship club in time to league debut this weekend against Coventry.

Leigh Bromby has continued the ongoing saga that is this part of his career by agreeing a four-yeal deal at Leeds United, just weeks after re-joining Yorkie rivals, Sheffield United in a 400k move from WD18. The centre back cost Watford 1.5x that much two January's ago! This latest deal is believed to be setting the Whites back just 250k subject to a medical on Monday.

And finally, Aidy Hoofroyd/Boothroyd is strongly tipped to take over as the next Barnsley manager, after the quick, but predictable sacking of Simon Davey. The Yorkshire long ball merchant has been on the dole since last November despite being linked with the vacancies at West Brom, Swansea, Q.P.R, Norwich, Colchester, Chelsea, Real Madrid and anyone else without a manager for some period over the Summer!?It would make sense on the basis Boothroyd will have the nouse to help the Tykes batter teams on their way to safety but from there, where do they go? The same way every season - the very same target that cost Welshman Davey his job, at last.
