Royals snap up 2nd choice Jobi

Jobi McAnuff - the poor man's Tommy Smith - has joined Reading for an undisclosed fee (that the W`Observer reckon is a brilliant £500k) in a move that is expected to save the Hornets more than £600k in wages!

So, that`s why he`s failed to track back for 3 seasons, or put in a tackle and generally look lethargic… he`s laden down under the weight of his weekly wage packet tucked in his shorts!

Sir John Madjeski said the capture of McAnuff was 'goods news for the club' but we`re not sure whether he was talking about Reading or Watford…

Failed goalkeeper, turned rubbish negotiator, Nicky Hammond stated Jobi is 'an old fashioned type of winger' and 'a creative force' - figures stacked up by the fact that in 92 games for Watford, McAnuff managed a mere 5 goals

Blimey, that`s 'creative` - no wonder Brendan Who reckons he's a 'big talent'!!!!

Glory Hornet boys up and down the land are already rejoicing Jobi`s departure…and it seems fans of those right Royal berks down the M4 aren`t particularly keen on their new signing either.

A quick look on the medding Reading Evening Post message board tells it`s own tale.

Plenty of people suggesting Brendan Who? can`t look any further than Watford`s cast offs whilst one particularly uninspired fan stating 'It`s like going from buying at John Lewis to going down the local car boot to see what bargains we can pick up….

Tommy Smith he ain`t….

I am surpriced reading have gone for jobi! never been a fan of jobi he is to in-consistant and misses some wright sitters. What i am worried about now though is watford have lost alot of width now jobi and smudger has gone. Probs see the young michael bryan or lewis young come in to fill the void.
