Watford were the better side - Davies

Angry lil` Billy Davies has gone right up in Dr Watford`s estimations after insisting that his Forest team were outplayed by Watford in last night`s 4-2 win at the City Ground.

The Tricky Trees gaffer certainly wasn`t on the Christmas card list here at VitalWatford Towers after his pre and post match comments last season, when he had a pop at all things yellow but credit where credit`s due and all that.

After seeing his merry men shot down by a rampant second half display by Malky Mackay`s men, a seemingly out of character Davies had no hesitation in applauding the Watford performance.

Angry lil` Billy told the world "Watford were the better side. We deserved nothing tonight…I thought we were outbattled. I thought [Watford] scrapped better than us and they gave us a lesson in how to be involved in a dogged game".

On the 'fficial Forest site he also heaped praise on the spirit and passion that our Braveheart boss has installed in his Hornets, insisting "We were beaten up by a side that showed a better attitude - bottom line!".

Davies even turned away claims by many of the City Ground faithful that they`d been cheated by the ref failing to dismiss Mike Williamson for deliberate handball, by stressing that even though he thought it was "a blatant red card" that Forest could have "no excuses".

Ah bless!
