Big Sam ready to resurrect Duke
There`s a new name that could be about to added to the list of Premiership legends such as Hierro, Anelka, Campo and Djorkaeff…Nathan Ellington.
Doesn`t quite fit somehow does it? Try as we might our eyebrows seem to be permanently in a raised position after it was revealed the self-titled 'Duke` had left little ol` Watford behind for a spell on trial at Blackburn.
Now it appears that Sam Allerdyce would "like to try" and weave his magic shown in reviving the faded fortunes of some of the continents top stars at Bolton by "resurrecting" Ellington`s career.
Big Sam told the BBC "He`s only 28 so whatever went wrong, if we can put things right we`ll have a real player on our hands but he had to prove it in the few days with us…"
"I like to try and resurrect somebody"!!!
The Ewood Park gaffer added "This is a lad with a huge amount of talent and has a really good CV from his time, particularly at Wigan"…
Erm, "huge amount of talent"? No Sam, that`s just Nathan`s Watford wage packet tucked under an XXL shirt. But we`ll forgive your error should you sign him up.

Fingers crossed on this one, although the rumour mill suggests Tamas will soon be riding high on a tractor... Not what we need in the build up to Saturday.

thats wright gloryhornet!! could not give a monkeys for ellington,to lose tamas just before we ko is not good.but as i wright this he has just gone to ipswitch how ironic is that!! 1.7 million. still aint enough for a potential future star. i know peps will say his contract was going to be up at the end of the season,but why can't we keep hold of our top players!! Dont the board have any ambition !! !!!

Yes, £1.7M is a decent fee with also a sell-on clause I understand; I guess the board's immediate priorities are to balance the books, to stabilise us in this league and then begin the slow process of rebuilding the ground and squad on a budget we can afford. We do not want to go the way of Saints, Leeds, Forest, Luton etc. Promotion on a shoestring - under Aidy Boothroyd 4 seasons ago - was nothing short of a miracle and is unlikely to be repeated; although you never know. Come On You Golden Boys!

£1.7 million is a lot better than nothing, it's not a case of WFC not being able to keep hold of their players. The player's have more power now since the Bosman rulling, Ipswich are showing ambition, they have a rich owner and a proven manager and they may be paying more in wages. if Priskin had 2 years left of a contract, then we would be able to barter more.
