No De Lucas move for Watford

Watford won`t be luring Spanish midfielder (and former Chelsea misfit) Enrique De Lucas to Vicarage Road after all.

Oh no! Braveheart Hornets boss Malky Mackay stated that Senor Enrique "has stayed in Spain" and lets face it given the rain we`ve had of late we`d also choose the Med over a damp Hertfordshire any day of the week!

Mackay told the W`Observer "Because he was only an hour away from where we were [Barcelona training camp], we saw no harm in him coming in for two days and playing in the second game and having a look at him".

But he did stress "…he won`t be coming…"!

Whether the Hornets decided against snapping up the former Espanyol and Alaves after watching him in a training camp friendly or that Senor Enrique was just a little out of their price range remains a mystery.

But you can bet your last peseta that, with over 125 games in the La Liga and the Premier League to his name, De Lucas certainly wouldn`t have been a cheap option to appease the moneymen in WD18.
