'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Day of destiny set for Golden Graham

It could well be a case of "tell me why I hate Mondays" for the Vicarage Road moneymen after the Football League set a date of Mon 27th July for the Danny Graham transfer tribunal.

Watford, who took ol` Golden Graham on a free after his contract expired, have reportedly had a £25k compensation fee dismissed by Carlisle whilst the Brunton Park board also stated that all communication lines with the Hornets had been cut short.

The West Cumberland Times & Star reckon that the Division One outfit now hope the date "will prompt Watford to up their paltry offer…"

Still, if an agreement can`t be struck - and we urge Malky Mackay to dig his heels in on this one - the Hornets will rock up for the tribunal to hear their fate and see what the already empty club coffers are forced to stump up for the 23 year old striker.

VitalWatford would like to kindly remind the Football League representatives that ol` Danny boy is going through a dry patch, having not scored a league goal in 2009 and that the Cumbrians were being all a bit too greedy by turning down decent bids for the soon to be expired player in the last window.

Claims that compensation of £250k+ should be paid is simply laughable….we bet the Cumbrians now wish they`d taken the money in January.

We have our fair share of grief when it comes to the football tribunal, but what would happen if wfc turned round said, we just can not afford to pay that for the player?

Not an option Andy, as we have given him a contract and he's our player. So we would have to sell him on to raise funds. It's a risk of buying a player under these circumstances. My guess is fee will be in region of £50k - £70k.
